Material Information:

New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, item in its original packaging (where packaging is applicable). Packaging should be the same as what is found in our retail store. Install professionally by a bodyshop with a valid automotive repair business license. Urethane parts require minimal prep work, such as: drilling holes, filler, flex paint agent, sanding, primer. Ships direct from the manufacturer or distributor. Manufactured using a process called RIM, Reaction Injection Molding in which the reactants were mixed then injected into a mold and treated with a memory agent to allow them to restore their original shape. Ships folded to conserve space. Set in the sun for at least 48 hours to restore the original shape. Use a smooth weight, such as a vinyl covered kettle bell on stubborn folds. We do not offer any guarantee of fitment on vehicles that have been in involved in accidents and/or have body damage or customization.

All hoods and hood accessories offered by KBD are designed as aftermarket accessories intended for off-road and show use. KBD assumes no responsibility for any damage or injury resulting from the use of these products. KBD hoods are often lighter than stock hoods and may feature vented designs, which can cause additional aerodynamic lift at high speeds. For safety, hood pins or AeroCatch latches are mandatory, as standard hood latches may not provide sufficient security.

Due to the nature of polyurethane and the manufacturing processes involved, KBD hoods are not “direct bolt-on” parts and typically require preparation such as sanding, cutting, trimming, and filling gaps. In some cases, additional reinforcement may be needed in certain areas. Drilling holes may also be required for proper fitment, including for windshield washer nozzles and tubing. Depending on the design of the KBD hood, not all components from the original hood, such as washer systems and other accessories, may be transferable.

Hood Latch Adjustments
KBD hoods typically require repositioning the hood latch to ensure proper alignment and secure closure. This involves carefully adjusting the latch up/down or forward/back until the striker catches securely. Since polyurethane can have slight variations, additional fitting, such as enlarging mounting holes or using shims, may be necessary. You may also need to adjust or remove hood bump stops for proper alignment.

Hood Accessories: Scoops and Other Modifications
KBD offers a range of hood accessories, including scoops, to enhance the look and performance of your vehicle. Attaching a hood scoop usually involves drilling mounting holes in the hood and using bolts or adhesive, depending on the scoop design. When installing scoops on KBD hoods, additional reinforcement may be required in specific areas to ensure secure attachment. Proper measurement and fitting are essential to avoid leaks and maintain the structural integrity of the hood.

For the best results, KBD strongly recommends professional installation by a custom shop experienced in handling polyurethane products, as traditional auto repair shops may not have the necessary expertise to perform these modifications.

KBD hoods, hood accessories, and other products are strictly designed for off-road and show use. Due to stringent Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, many of these products, including hoods and hood scoops, are not street legal. KBD does not endorse or recommend using these products on public roads or highways.
